When the video game industry encountered its bizarre state around 1980’s, the Atari games were considered as one of the cheapest and common games ever released. The Atari 2600 has made its impact but considering out of the ordinary condition of the industry, very few copies were sold out. Although the game was considered as the most valuable game that time, scarcity of copies was truly experienced. This is the reason why it is pretty impossible to grab a copy and make a collection of this game. Some of the companies’ versions also were too limited that even a collection for console would sound impossible to make.

The Atari 2600 is the system that most people of then collect games for. The true stance of the game was felt because more people want to own a 2600 or others have been truly lucky to have a copy. Considered as a game that truly outstands the rest, many people have tried much in getting a copy. For now, we can identify reasons why people try to get a copy even this is considered as the rarest games ever. One obvious reason is that the game brings back the memories of old times. Back to heyday, who doesn’t own an Atari game? Almost all have it. Because of the increasing demand to take hold a copy, too many people like to own a copy but very limited were created.

As a game collector, this will not take much especially so if the games you fond having are common games. But if you really wish to take hold of the Atari 2600 games, then you might consider going an extra mile in search for it. This can be the very challenge that you have to face because this particular game is truly the rarest and hardest games to collect. No one is to blame why very few copies were made available to the market. Because of the dwindling state of games industry several decades ago, it is expected that there will be cost-cutting in the production.

The rarest Atari game is the Gamma Attack. It is considered as one of the rarest because only handful of copies and cartridges were publicized. Gamma Attack was made by Gammation and it is under the system of Atari 2600. A handheld game for one person and be manipulated using an Atari joystick. This successful game was programmed by Robert L. Esken, Jr.

The rarity scale of this game has reached the maximum because only one copy known to exist today. The copy is in the hands of a collector named Anthony DeNardo. One copy was subjected to eBay auction last February 2008. This has made a tremendous wow factor on his part as the event showcased his amazing find. It was in the same auction year where Gammation, the manufacturer of the game unveiled Gamma-Attack4. This is a release of the game intended for computer emulation.

If you plan to get a copy of this Gamma-Attack Game, might as well consider the value that gets higher due to bidding.
