What are Blue and Pink Diamonds

By

Diamonds are transparent crystals that are derivative of carbon. Being the second most stable form of carbon and the singled element amongst gemstones, it is no wonder that it is incredibly valued. Jewelry industries try so much to acquire this type of stones mainly because of their hardness and high dispersion to light. Hence, it is preciously valued.

Amongst all known naturally ensuing minerals, diamonds have the solid characteristic. Because of this stiff property, this stone is often used as a coarse substance to finish other materials, provide polishing or even cut other diamonds. Because of their resistance to scuffs and scratches, they can grant smooth refinement on other stones while retaining its shine all throughout.

Diamonds come in different colors and value. The common are colorless, yellow or brown. Blue and pink diamonds are the most common among the rare colors. They too come in shades of gray. They are perfect presents for weddings, engagement and other occasions because they can surely resist wear and tear of everyday usage.

Few people know of the fancy colored diamonds. We usually come to appreciate them when purchased or worn by famous celebrities like the Hollywood celebrities and other wealthy people around the world. The famous blue diamond or the very expensive pink diamonds are one of the rarest kinds. They are fancy loose diamonds that appear in one primary color. These are extremely rare and precious.

Blue diamond can be naturally mined in the presence of mineral called boron or can also be cultured in laboratory. These account for their rarity and uniqueness. A naturally mined blue diamond is termed as Fancy Vivid Blue because it shows a rich, highly saturated color. Due to its extreme rarity, acquisition of this stone would costs much ranging from $500,000 to $1.5Million per carat. The lab grown blue diamond offer the same physical and chemical property and differs only on the origin. They are a lot cheaper from the natural mined because prices can range from $10,000 to $15,000 per carat. The distribution is quite tight and comes only in regular basis.

On the other hand, pink diamonds are extremely rare and intensely expensive. They are the most popular of all the colored diamonds. The only source of production is through mining because laboratory production cannot handle the meticulous preparation and maintenance of it. Acquisition of a natural pink colored diamond is so exceptional because most of the naturally mined pink diamond may have secondary hues of red or purple due to a process called plastic deformation.

Well to do people around the nation have enjoyed these precious stones for several decades and till now.
